About Programme
|
The Division of French Language Teaching in the Department of Foreign Language Education at the Faculty of Education offers a four-year mainstream education. Apart from the courses given by the Department of Educational Sciences and the general culture courses, the language of instruction is French. All the students accepted to the Division take the foreign language proficiency exam. Those who are successful in the exam start their first year at the Division of French Language Teaching. Those who cannot pass the exam take French preparatory education for a year. The main aim of the Division of French Language Teaching is to raise qualified French teachers for high schools in our country. For this reason, the students attend practicum courses at high schools and have an internship in the last term of their education in order to transform their theoretical knowledge on teaching profession into skills and to develop their knowledge and skills by practicing.

Admission Requirements
|
To enter the Division of French Language Teaching,it is required to finish secondary education or get an equivalent education abroad and receive sufficent score in the nationol student placement exam.

Graduation Requirements
|
French Language Teaching consists of 8 terms. French Language Teaching Undergraduate Program consists of 59 courses and 30 ECTS each term and 240 ECTS credits totally. Each academic term elective courses are provided comprising %25 of the curriculum.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of French Language Teaching can work as French teachers at schools, language courses; as instructors, research assistants at universities; as officials and translators at public and private institutions and organizations and also work as officials in foreign affairs and EU departements of ministries.

Assessment and Grading
|
Testing and evaluation methods implemented in the courses are defined in the “course instructional plan” which takes place in the information package. The relevant articles in the Examination Regulation of Hacettepe University Associate and Undergraduate Education are used for the exams and final grades.
