History
Classroom Teaching Programme has been established as The Department of Primary Education in the 1991-1992 academic year, to educate classroom teachers for primary schools. However, as the Faculties of Education reorganized in the 1997-1998 academic year, Department of Elementary Education has been established and Classroom Teaching Programme continued its education under this department.

Students' acceptance, registration, exam and evaluation procedures are conducted based on the Higher Education Law and the regulations and decisions put forth by The Higher Education Council based on this law.At Hacettepe University, student acceptance and registration procedures are handled by the Student Registrar Office. Related rules and regulations can be reached at http://www.oid.hacettepe.edu.tr/There is a two level examination system after the high school to enter higher education. These exams are conducted by the Measurement, Evaluation, and Placement Center (OSYM in Turkish). More information about the exams can be obtained from the http://www.osym.gov.tr/ web site.

Graduation Requirements
To complete all the courses in the program (240 ECTS) and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 are the required rules to qualify for graduation.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Classroom Teaching Programme receive the "Classroom Teacher" title and they can work at state or private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Our graduates also find jobs at private training centers, companies that develop and market educational materials, publishing companies, and universities for an academic career.
Assessment and Grading
For every course, assessment and evaluation methods are defined in the course syllabus by the responsible academic personnel. Hacettepe University Undergraduate Academic and Examination legislation is applied regarding the examinations and assigned grade points for every course.
