About Programme
Early Childhood Education Program was established in the 1997-98 academic year as a part of Turkish Higher Education Council's teacher education restructuring efforts. Our program aims to train high quality early childhood teachers through its undergraduate program as well as offers masters and doctorate degrees for those who would like to further their education in the field. The language of instruction is Turkish.
In order to ensure the graduation requirements, it is necessary that students should take 240 ECTS credits proposed by the department, faculty and selective courses department.

Admission Requirements
Candidates who want to be admitted to the Early Childhood Education program must have a valid secondary education degree (or equivalent approved by the Council of Higher Education)

Graduation Requirements
a- Completing all required courses in the program (equivalent of 240 ECTS).b- Attaining 2,00 GPA (out of 4.00).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Program graduates may be employed as a teacher at public and private child care facilities, public school kindergarten classrooms (all supervised by the Turkish Ministry of National Education) and other child care facilities (Crèches and Preschools) governed by public and private organizations. Graduates who want to further their education may apply to our graduate programs which offer masters and doctorate degrees.

Assessment and Grading
As a general rule, assessment is one midterm exam (40%) and one final exam (60%) for each course. In some courses, alternative assessment and evaluation methods such as homeworks, projects or seminars are used in line with the decision of the instructor. Through the diversity of assessment and evaluation methods, students' knowledge levels can be determined more qualified and they are supported to do research.
