About Programme

The Department of Turkish Education was established in 2013 as the Department of Turkish Education in order to train Turkish teachers. Registration, examination and evaluation procedures of students are carried out in accordance with the Higher Education Law and the decisions and regulations of the Higher Education Council based on this law. Admission procedures at Hacettepe University are carried out by the Registrar's Office, and information on regulations and directives can be found at http://www.oid.hacettepe.edu.tr. Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) is applied in the transition from secondary education to higher education. Examinations are carried out by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Detailed information about the exams can be found at http://www.osym.gov.tr. In the examination system, two different tests are applied to the candidates. In the first stage, YKS-Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) is applied, and in the second stage, YKS-Field Proficiency Test (AYT) is applied. The "Higher Education Institutions Exam" is an exam that measures the proficiency for transition to higher education, which will be applied to those who have successfully completed secondary education and wish to pursue higher education. Students who can get enough points from the VERBAL field in this exam are entitled to study in the program. Successfully completing all the courses available in the program (for a total of 240 ECTS) and having a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are the required qualification conditions for graduation. Graduates of Turkish teaching program are appointed as Turkish Teachers to public and private education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education with the title of "Turkish Teacher". In addition, our graduates can work in private teaching institutions, in sectors such as educational materials design and marketing, broadcasting organizations, in publishing houses, in workplaces that develop educational materials, and in academic staff of universities. Turkish teaching undergraduate program is a 4-year program. The courses in the program consist of Vocational Knowledge (MB), General Culture (GK) and Field Education (AE) courses. 49% of the program consists of Field Education, 33% of Vocational Knowledge and 18% of General Culture courses. In addition, students are required to take 16 elective courses corresponding to a total of 32 credits and 60 ECTS.

Students' acceptance, registration, exam and evaluation procedures are conducted based on the Higher Education Law and the regulations and decisions put forth by The Higher Education Council based on this law.At Hacettepe University, student acceptance and registration procedures are handled by the Student Registrar Office. Graduation Requirements
To complete all the courses in the program (240 ECTS) and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 are the required rules to qualify for graduation.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Turkish Teaching Program receive the "Turkish Teacher" title and they can work at state or private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Our graduates also find jobs at private training centers, companies that develop and market educational materials, publishing companies, and universities for an academic career.
