About Programme
|
Hacettepe University, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program was founded in 1961 by İhsan Doğramacı, MD, Prof. as a part of the School of Health Sciences affiliated to Ankara University. In 1964, it was restructured as The School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation which was affiliated to Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and in 1971, the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation became an independent college by being directly affiliated with the Hacettepe University Presidency. The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation became the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department of Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2007, with the decision of the Council of Ministers on 21.05.2007 and numbered 2007/12216. In 2019, it became the Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. Since its establishment, it has been providing 4-year undergraduate education. Graduates of the department will have the title of "physiotherapist". The diplomas of the graduates are also registered by the Ministry of Health. In addition to continuing their careers as health professionals, the graduate students can enter a higher-level education ( Master's degree) if they would like to.

The Main Branch of Science
History

Hacettepe University, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department was founded in 1961 by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı as a part of Ankara University, Health Sciences School. In 1964, Ankara University, Hacettepe Medical and Health Sciences Faculty was configured as Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation School and in 1971, it was directly engaged to Hacettepe University Rectorate as an independent department. In 2007, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation School was affiliated to Faculty of Health Sciences with the decision of Council of Ministers on 21.5.2007 and No: 2007/12216 with the new name of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department. Our department has 4-year Bachelor`s degree, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy programs have been carried out under the Institute of Health Sciences, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department since 1967. Besides Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation program, there have been new Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy programs called Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Sports Physiotherapy, and Prosthetics-Orthotics and Biomechanics since 1997. Our department graduates take the title of "physiotherapist" after the graduation. Their graduation certificates were confirmed by Ministry of Health. All graduates can take their professional role in health system and also they can go on developing their academic skills.

Admission Requirements
|
To register to Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, candidates should finish high school education or have similar degree to Turkish secondary educational system and take enough mathematical degree (MD) in national university exam (NUE). Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department accepts students with (NUE) (MD)-3 scoring system.

Graduation Requirements

To finish Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, all students have to complete 240 ECTS successfully and they should have a grade 2.00 out of 4 system.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
The graduates take the title of "physiotherapist" after the graduation. Their graduation certificates is confirmed by Ministry of Health. All graduates can take their professional role in health system and also they can continue developing their academic skills.

The examination, assessment, and evaluation are carried out in according to the regulations which are specified in Hacettepe University Undergraduate Regulations/Guide.
