About Programme

Hacettepe University Department of Architecture and Urban Planning is one of the five departments within the Başkent OSB Vocational School of Technical Sciences. Under the umbrella of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, there is only the Surveying and Cadastre Program. Since its establishment in 1982, the Surveying and Cadastre Program has continued its education and training activities in different units of Hacettepe University (Ankara Vocational School, Polatlı Technical Sciences Vocational School and, since 2017, Başkent OSB Technical Sciences Vocational School).



Surveying and Cadastre Program is a 2-year associate degree program consisting of 4 semesters. 50 students are accepted to our program every year. In our program, theoretical and practical courses are given as face-to-face education. The courses taught consist of compulsory, elective, vocational and common courses. The majority of the vocational courses in our training program are given practically (on the computer and in the field). 25% of our courses consist of elective courses. In addition to the courses taught, certificate training support is also received from various companies in the mapping industry. Our program includes technological measuring devices and a computer laboratory as technical infrastructure. Three faculty members work full time in the Surveying and Cadastre Program.



Among the aims of our program; obtaining geographical data using technological measurement methods and using these data in the production of maps and projects needed by various application areas, especially engineering studies, organizing and carrying out the implementation of the produced engineering projects on the ground, having the ability to use the software and hardware required by the profession, principled and modern Training professional staff is included.



 


History

Since its establishment in 1982, the Map and Cadastre Program has continued its educational activities in different units of Hacettepe University (Ankara Vocational School, Polatlı Technical Sciences Vocational School and since 2017, Başkent OSB Vocational School of Technical Sciences).

Admission Requirements
Candidates who want to register for Map and Cadaster Program should have a diploma of high school of equivalent and to get enough points from YGS-1 University Entrance Exam. Besides, passing through without exam is possible from related departments of vocational high schools.The candidates who have right to enroll for Hacettepe University are to register with the required documents defined by upper institutions, OSYM and rectorate in given period of time personally or with a power of attorney regulated by attorney. Registration fails with any missing document. Candidates who do not register in given time lose the right to register.

Graduation Requirements
To graduate it is required;
1. To complete all the required courses, applied projects and internships defined by Hacettepe University bachelor Education Exam regulations succesfully.
2. To complete 120 AKTS credits required for the program.
3. To have at least 2.00 GPA.
4. Not to have cut up link with the program with reasons defined in Hacettepe University bachelor Education Exam regulations.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Our graduates can have profession in map producing state institutions, state insitutions in which graphical applications take place, in all engineering private institutions, in companies in which locational applications and systems production take place and regualed.
Assessment and Grading
Students have to enroll courses at the beginning of the semester and continue at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the applications in order to enter the final exam. Students are required to take at least one midterm and a general exam for each course. Success grade is weighted average of the midterm exams (grades obtained from measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exams, practice etc. can be taken into consideration as a midterm exam grade) and of the final exam. The weight of the midterm and general exams could be between 40% and 60% that are determined by the instructor of the course.
Examinations and grading follow the related arrangements of Hacettepe University Associate’s Degree, Bachelor's of Science Education and Examination Regulations.
