About Programme
|
Hacettepe Univesity Nursing Faculty has carried on education activities since 1961. First it was belonged to the Hacettepe University Child Health Research Institute. In 1972 it connected to the Hacettepe University Rectorate directly. And in 2007 it was connected to the Faculty of Health Science as Nursing Department. Since December 2012 it has been Faculty of Nursing.
Nursing Faculty gives nursing education at national and international standarts with a strong academic structure. In our faculty students begin to their education with English preparing program for one year and they continue to their education for four years. The students take one third of their courses in English.
Nursing Faculty Undergraduate Program consists of compulsory courses, elective courses and practices. For graduating the sudents have to take 240 ECTS and to have at least 2.00 mainly grade point of 4.00. 87.5% of the courses are compulsory (40 courses, 210 ECTS) and 12,5% of the courses are elective (59 courses, 30 ECTS).
Undergraduate and graduate programs are carried out by 8 departments in the faculty.

Hacettepe Univesity Nursing Faculty has carried on education activities since 1961. first it was belonged to the Hacettepe University Child Health Research Institute. In 1972 it connected to the Hacettepe University Rectorate directly. And in 2007 it was connected to the Health Science Faculty as Nursing Department. Since December 2012 it has been Nursing Faculty. Nursing Faculty gives nursing education at national and ınternational standarts with a strong academic structure. In our faculty students begin to their education with English preparing program for one year and they continue to their education for four years. The students take one third of their courses in english. Students graduate from our faculty with getting the title of "nurse".In our faculty there are 8 departments which give bachelor`s, master`s and doctoral education degree. All of our students take theoretical courses in classes and practice in skill and simulation labs. Also they are practice at institutions which are preventive and therapeutic organizations.Our graduates are able to employed as nurse, training nurse, special branch nurse, counselor, nurse manager in health institutions that serve preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative at national and international level and that belong to public and private sector.Cooperation of academic and clinical environment that created by the contribution of our faculty provides a convenient high level of nursing services that are patient`s and employee`s safety oriented, in international standarts, independent, scientifically-based and using information technologies.

To complete with succses all the courses to reach 240 ECTS and to have at least 2.00 mainly grade point of 4.00.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Aim to determine students ideas about their education in Hacettepe University Faculty of Nursing, 50 students whose notes are between 2,5-3,5 are included into the study. It`s identified that 52% of the students are happy, 24% of them are partially happy about their education. It`s reported that 91,8% of the students gain to be sensitive to problems, 86% of them gain to be sensitive to genaral helath problems, 80% of tham gain to Show ethical behaviours and 70% of them gain to have comprehensive knowledge during their education in our department. Our students see themselves different form other schools` students in terms of in terms of comprehensive knowledge to take 70%, to be professional nurse to take 44% and quality education to take 38% of students. Also they indicated themselves different form other schools` students in terms of intensive curriculum to take 16%, challenging internships and not joining to social activities to take 12% of them. 6% of them determine that there is no benefit to be student in our department. Our departments` students determine the degree in nursing education to prepare themselves in their profession with 56% good, 32% very good. 2% of our department students report that our nursing education don`t prepare them to the professional life. 29,3% of our students determine that they want to take elective lessons from different areas and our department. The students report that special branch nursing (operating room nursing, geriatric nursing, oncology nursing, emergency nursing etc.) and ethic lessons must be given in our department. 29,3% of our students determine that available lessons are enough.

Assessment and Grading
|
In Nursing Faculty exams consist midterms, final exams, and excuse exams. The success of a course determine by the course achievement score. Course achievement score obtains by the determining final exam and the success of student in semestre together. The affect of final exam to the course achievement score is 40 % min and 60 % max. If a student does not take the exam, student considered to have failed in that course.
