About Programme

To educate students who can combine all necessary theoretical knowledge with technical and musical skills and perform the pieces belong to all periods of guitar repertoire at international level, can follow developments in his/her field, predictive, regardfull, respectful to art ethics, participant and has a high level of aesthetic appreciation, open to innovations and developments. Graduates of the programme can take officed in music institutions

History
Department of Guitar established by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kanneci in 2005-2006 academic year. The department includes graduate and undergraduate programmes. Both of them carried out by modern methods and techniques. The department follows the current works of the international area and goes on to contribute to academic knowledge through its artistic and scientific works.

To be accepted for this programme applicant must finish high school education or have similar degree to Turkish secondary educational system. Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of guitar department can work as an academic member or instructor in state or private art institutions, art schools and conservatories. Also they are able to find some works as a soloist or accompanist.
