Preliminaries of the division of ballet, ballet dancıng department was established in 1947, with the cooperation between the Turkish Government and the British Government acted with the Istanbul Yeşilköy Ballet School which merged with the Ankara State Conservatory in 1950.The founder and the administrator of the school was Ninette de Valois, the founder of the British Royal Ballet School and Community Dame. Between the years of 1950 -1974 school was along the lines of the work of the British school. Since 1975 the Russian Vaganova school of thought was chosen as the continuing education system.Starting with Primary 5th grade, ballet education process includes undergraduate degree.With the Ballet Arts degree programmes conducted by Department; students closely follow the work in the international arena, which has in the field of classical ballet and contemporary dance performer of contemporary methods and techniques for the need of institutions, provides education and contribute to the accumulation of social culture through the staging of various plays.

Admission Requirements

In order to be accepted to this programme, student must hold high school graduation of Art Ballet Dancing Department or an equivalent degree.For international students, Hacettepe University, internaitonal student guidelines&rules are applicable (http://www.iso.hacettepe.edu.tr/).

Graduation Requirements
Graduation conditions specified in Article 30 of Hacettepe University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations apply (http://www.resmi-gazete.org/rega/hacettepe-universitesi-on-lisans-lisans-egitim-ogretim-ve -exam-management-33210.htm).
In order to graduate from this program, it is necessary to obtain a minimum of 176 national credits and a total of 240 ECTS credits, including common compulsory courses and elective courses, in addition to the graduation conditions specified in Article 30 of Hacettepe University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Our graduates, acquire qualifications to carry out a training programme in the field of pas de deux, Character Dances as well as the Vaganova classical ballet methods.They are equipped with tools to serve programmes and educational institutions with the goal of educating professional ballet Dancers. To compansate for possible insufficiencies of pracitcal applications, students follow and obsevre the undergraduate classical balet courses of the department to acquire practical experiences on the job.

Assessment and Grading
|
The measurement and evaluation methods applied to each course are defined in the “Course Plan” which is shown in the Information Package and prepared by the related instructor. The articles 23-28 of the Hacettepe University Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree Educational and Examination Regulation are valid for the exam and course success grades.
