*General Description The history of Wind and Percussion Instrument branches (Flute-Oboe-Clarinet-Bassoon-French Horn-Trumpet-Trombone-Tuba-Percussion Ins.) under the Music Department, dates back to the establishment of Music Teacher`s College in 1936 (Musiki Muallim Mektebi). After inclusion into the "Council of Higher Education" in 1982, Ankara State Conservatory was connected to Hacettepe University and these branches gathered together under the name of "Wind and Percussion Instruments Department" and was restructured again. "Master`s Degree in Art" and "Efficiency in Art Programs" started to give education in 1996-1997 Academic year.Wind and Percussion Instruments Department, with its "Bachelor`s Degree", "Master`s Degree in Art" and "Efficiency in Art" Programs, educates students to become artists and educators for national and international orchestras and educational institutions, with all sub-disciplines of wind and percussion instruments, by using modern methods and techniques.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The fields of study for bachelor`s degree graduates of Wind and Percussion Instruments are summarized as follows;Working as a performer with appropriate professional qualifications in national and international symphony orchestras, opera orchestras and chamber music groups or making an academic career working as a researcher and faculty member of conservatories and music schools.
