About Programme

The department of ceramics updates the curriculum in the light of technological developments and artistic transformations. This way, our students gain knowledge on all subjects related to ceramics and skills necessary for production in both private and commercial studios; and they can work as designers and freelance artists after graduation. Our students who can synthesize their knowledge with daily life practices, can also use technology at the level of contributing to industrial design; and additionally, have the right to complete a minor degree by taking courses from other departments within the faculty.

History
The department of ceramics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts was founded in 1983-1984. The department provides a 4-year undergraduate program; a 2-year graduate program; and a 4-year PhD program. The department of ceramics is one of the best qualified in Turkey, with its young and dynamic academic staff.The main aim of the department is to educate the students as future artists who comprehend that art is one of the highest level activities belonging to humanbeings, by creating a suitable environment in which they can gain knowledge and develop skills related to ceramics. The academic staff, who believe that self-development is in paralel with living the art and with productivity, participate in national and international artistic activities on a regular basis.

Students are admitted through Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) and special talent examinations.

Graduation Requirements
The successful completion of at least 240 ECTS. Students who started before 2013-2014 must have completed 160 national credits.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
In line with technological developments and changes in the curriculum of courses in the Department of Ceramic art renew. Thus, the students gained knowledge in all subjects related to the field of ceramic industry and for the production of special studios, which will be grown to have the necessary skills, graduate, they can work as a freelance artist and designer.

Department of Ceramics courses in the undergraduate program, examinations, evaluation criteria and scoring system, Hacettepe University, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree in Education-Teaching and Examination Regulations, organized and implemented in accordance with the relevant clauses.
