History

Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty, Graphic Department was established with the number 2809 that were passed into law in 20.07.1982 and legislated in 28.03.1983 with the number 41of act. University started its education between years 1983-1984. With the 4 years graduate program, the university has master and art proficiency educations. The aim of the department is, making designer-artist candidates researches in their field, highly creative, cultivated and able to educate the nation and have the expanded aesthetic manners during their education. The other aim of the department is educating the students, to transfer graphic inventions into application filed, successful in transferring the information into graphic with gaining the conscious and the needs of the 21st century level, able to create new synthesis by using modern interpretation.There are graphic design studio, packaging and presentation design studio, photography studio, basic design studio, drawing studio, animation studio and computer graphic studio to achieve aims of the program. The graphic designer has an as active role in order to build every kind of communication besides there are great area of employment.

Admission Requirements
|
To entry Department of Graphic Design Bachelor's Degree Program he/she must completed high school education or have an equivalent education abroad and and taking adequate exam score of the national university entrance and required to be managed Skill Exam of Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University.

Graduation Requirements
|
In order to graduate Proficiency of Art Program, students must obtain 240 AKTS credits and carry out a design activity like exhibition, project, design, implementation, demonstration and so on. Additionally, students submit a written report to be prepared within the scope of this activity and the need to achieve the thesis defense examination.These conditions, which was published in the Official Newspaper November 23 2012 at Hacettepe University is determined within the framework of Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graphic Design graduates can work as in the public sector, private companies, advertising agencies, publishing houses as graphic designer, advertising and publicity photographer, illustrator, web designer and interface designer, can also work, in television and broadcast industry, motion graphics, make generic designs, animation storyboard or may be involved as an animator. Can be employed as concept designer, character designer and illustrator in Game industry, can prepare applications for the touch interface.

Assessment and Grading
|
The evaluation methods applied in the courses are defined in the 'Course Teaching Plan' included in the information package. Regarding the exams and success grades, the relevant articles of the HU Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education Exam Regulations are applied.
