About Programme

In our program, applied studies are carried out as required by the workshop system. Within the scope of Painting Workshops, there are courses covering contemporary art dynamics such as Visual Formation and Experimental Art. In addition to this, verbal explanation, examination and research, discussion, methods are used in theoretical studies. In all applied and theoretical courses, hardware that allows visual examples and interactive applications is used. Panels, seminars, conferences and exhibitions are organized throughout the year in order to create resources for applied courses. These events are given regularly by experts in the field.

History
The Faculty of Fine Arts was founded in 1982, and the Painting Department started accepting students in 1983-1984 academic year. The department gives 4 year Bachelor education. The language of education is Turkish. The department includes a drawing workshop, 3 painting workshops, printmaking workshops, an in situ art workshop, a basic art training workshop, a graduate workshop, a theoretical classroom, a conference room and an exhibition hall, to secure the achievement of the educational objectives of the department. Each workshop accomodates approximately 25 students, with the average of 15 students per faculty. To provide source material for applicational courses, panel discussions, seminars, talks and exhibitions are held within the department by experts of their field throughout the academic year.Our programme includes applicational work, as is required by the workshop system. In the workshops we provide courses which are concentrating on the contemporary art dynamics such as Experimental Art or Visual Figuration. Furthermore, methods such as lectures, investigation and research, discussion, etc. are used for theoretical courses. All applicational and theoretical courses make use of computers, projection devices and slides to allow visual examples and interactivity.

Admission Requirements
The candidates are required to have graduated from high school. The program admits students through the YKS and a talent test. The requirements mentioned in Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts Talent Test Regulations must be met.

Graduation Requirements
The students who meet the requirements of article 30-1 of the Regulations on Undergraduate Education and completed the compulsory courses required for this program are eligible for graduation. The students who obtain education in other universities through the Erasmus program must meet the 30 ECTS credit required for the semester.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can work as independent artists, art directors, art consultant, etc. and also in various positions in educational institutions. The growing art market in Turkey and the world provides a wide range of possibilities for Painting graduates through galleries.
Assessment and Grading
The evaluation methods applied in the courses are defined in the 'Course Teaching Plan' included in the information package. Regarding the exams and success grades, the relevant articles of the HU Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education Exam Regulations are applied.
