About Programme
Medical Laboratory Techniques Program affiliated to the Vocational School of Health Services provides 2-year associate degree education. The language of education is Turkish. The purpose of this program is to provide training to those who perform the medical analyzes deemed necessary by the physician regarding the patient's condition in the diagnosis and treatment laboratories within the health institutions. For this reason, students do a routine laboratory practice at the end of the second semester in order to develop the knowledge and skills they have learned in theoretical and practical courses for two years.

History
The Medical Laboratory Techniques program was established in 1985 within the body of Hacettepe University Health Services Vocational School. It started education with 10 classrooms and 1 laboratory.

Admission Requirements
For Acceptance of the Programme the candidates are required to take the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by ÖSYM and get sufficient scores from the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) section.

Graduation Requirements
In order to obtain an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Techniques, it is necessary to successfully complete 120 ECTS and and the academic grade point average must be at least 2.00. Graduation procedures are carried out in accordance with the Hacettepe University Associate Degree-Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations (https://oidb.hacettepe.edu.tr/tr/hacettepe_universitesi_on_lisans_lisans_egitimogre-3).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can work in universities, state, social insurance hospitals, health centers, private clinics and analysis laboratories, research centers of other health institutions, public health institutes and food industry enterprises, and institutions and organizations that conduct research and development studies in the field of medicine and research centers. Those employed in the public sector are subject to Civil Servants Law No. 657. They start their duties with the second level of the 10th degree in the technical services class. Their salaries are determined each year according to budget law.

Assessment and Grading
The measurement and evaluation methods applied in the courses are defined in the "Course Teaching Plan" in the information package. Regarding the exams and success grades, the relevant articles of the HU Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education Exam Regulations are applied.
