History
Established by the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2014/149 published in the Official Gazette No. 28983 on April 26, 2014, Hacettepe University’s Faculty of Architecture became operational in August 2020. Based on the proposal of the Hacettepe University Rectorate, dated 04.06.2015 and numbered 10877, regarding the establishment of departments and sub-disciplines within the Faculty of Architecture, the opening of the mentioned departments and sub-disciplines has been deemed appropriate in the letter issued by YÖK on 26/06/2015, numbered 75850160-101.03.01/35956, titled 'Opening of Departments and Sub-Disciplines,' which was communicated to the Hacettepe University Rectorate.

Admission Requirements
1. To enroll in the program, candidates must have at least a high school diploma or an equivalent degree from abroad. Admission to the program is based on the Numerical (SAY) score type from the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) conducted by ÖSYM. 2. International students who have finished secondary education at an institution equivalent to a Turkish high school are eligible to apply for associate and undergraduate programs at Hacettepe University. The candidates who would like to apply, be admitted to, and enroll in the undergraduate Architecture program are expected to meet the eligibility criteria determined according to the rules and regulations of relevant articles specified in the Hacettepe University Procedures and Principles for International Student Admissions at Associate and Undergraduate Level. 3. Students who have registered for the program must meet the specified English language proficiency requirements in order to begin their undergraduate studies in the Department of Architecture. According to this, students are expected to have successfully passed the English language proficiency exams held on certain dates or equivalent exams, as outlined in the Hacettepe University Foreign Language Preparation Education and Training Regulation and meet the minimum language score requirements according to the designated score ranges.

Graduation Requirements
|
The graduation requirements for the bachelor's degree program in architecture are governed by the Hacettepe University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations. Students must complete 60 courses, 44 compulsory and at least 16 elective courses, with a minimum of 191 national credits and 240 ECTS credits. Additionally, students must achieve a minimum overall academic performance of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale to graduate from the program. In this regard, students are responsible for the items specified in the relevant articles of the Hacettepe University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates from the Department of Architecture 1. Can continue their studies at the postgraduate level, both domestically and internationally, and pursue academic careers. 2. Work in public institutions and organizations such as ministries, municipalities, and universities. 3. Join the architectural firms, construction companies, building inspection firms, architectural restoration companies, and the building materials production industry. 4. Establish their own architectural office and participate in competitions, offering a wide range of career prospects.

Assessment and Grading
The assessment and evaluation methods applied for each course, along with the criteria (such as mid-term exams, assignments, projects, and final exams) and their respective weights to be considered in the course’s success evaluation, are defined in the “Assessment methods”. Regarding exams and course grades, students are responsible for the items specified in the relevant articles of the Hacettepe University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulations. Assessment and evaluation may vary for each course; therefore, students should refer to the course information packages. 'Assessment methods' are prepared by the relevant instructor and included in the Course Information Package. Final exams are conducted on the dates announced by the University at the specified location and time. The instructor responsible for the course determines students' final grades based on mid-term and final exam grades, their work throughout the term, and adherence to attendance rules.
